Does IMTS accept insurance as a form of payment?

 

IMTS offers complimentary preauthorizations through automotive and workman's comp insurances before any services are rendered. We also accept private payment clients with credit or debit card payments, check, or cash.

How are rates calculated?
​

Our rates are calculated based on a proprietary algorithm that takes into consideration multiple factors including; the type of vehicle required/requested, pick up and drop off location, wait time if applicable, and the mileage driven between all destinations. IMTS will never charge any hidden fees, surcharges, or processing fees, the price you are quoted will be the price that you pay. IMTS takes great pride in offering rates below industry average, as well as offering a 10% senior and military discount to all riders.

Is IMTS licensed and insured?

 

The Michigan Department of Transportation requires that all wheelchair van companies have a DOT inspection of each vehicle annually, and sets minimum requirements for insurance. IMTS has a Limousine Authority from the State of Michigan, and meets all of the required guidelines for insurance and safety equipment. All IMTS drivers face stringent background and driving history checks, as well as drug and alcohol screening.

Does IMTS offer waiting service?

For an additional fee our drivers are able to wait with clients during procedures. IMTS drivers treat all clients as their own family members, if you or your family member requires assistance we are happy to personally assist the client from the moment our driver arrives to pick them up, from the moment our driver drops them back off at home.

Does IMTS offer riders assistance getting out of residences and into destinations?

Our compassionate drivers are medically trained and happy to help assist riders in any way necessary. IMTS drivers are happy to assist riders out of their residence, into their reserved vehicle, and into their destination, always included in our transportation rates. 

Does IMTS have mobile ramps available to aid getting riders in and out of residences that are not currently equipped for wheelchair access?

All IMTS wheelchair vans are all equipped with two sets of ramps. One smaller set is for entry and garage doors as well as thresholds, there is also a larger set that will accommodate up to 3 or 4 stairs depending on size of the stairs.

Where is IMTS located?
​

IMTS is family owned and headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan. IMTS also has transportation hubs in Rochester, as well as Troy.

Does IMTS have the ability to transport patients in bariatric wheelchairs or stretchers?
​

Currently IMTS has the ability to transport ambulatory and non ambulatory patients, IMTS does not currently have the ability to transport bariatric wheelchairs or stretchers.

Do I need to be in a wheelchair to use your service?
​

No. IMTS is happy to help people with all levels of mobility. If you have a senior that needs a ride to an appointment and family is not available, we can help that person. Dialysis clinics, physical therapy clinics, optical appointments, etc. we will take you anywhere you can not take yourself. We have a solution for almost any transportation need you may have.
